Jackie MacDonald is an Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering UNC with a multi-disciplinary background in mathematics, engineering and science that she has applied to study risk assessment policy and communication for more than 25 years. Much of her work centers on predicting population health impacts of alternative environmental policy decisions. She was formerly the assistant director of the Water Science and Technology Board of the National Research Council in Washington, DC.
